Ellerman House was originally called Florida House and was built in 1906. It has changed owners several times since it was established and has had many transformations.
Sir John Ellerman, a generous philanthropist, is the most significant and although he did not build Ellerman House he was the longest resident and owner besides the Harris Family, who are the current owners.
In 1992 Ellerman House opened and at the time had seven bedrooms, later four bedrooms, two villas, spa, wine gallery and an art gallery have been added to Ellerman House.
It is located in Bantry Bay in Cape Town, South Africa, and has incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean and has a beautiful garden, swimming pool and is situated on the slopes of Lion’s Head.
The Rooms
The Classic House Room is an elegantly styled room using classic styles in shades of grey and charcoal. It does not have a terrace or ocean views but has all amenities needed for a comfortable stay.
The Superior House Room has a view of the ocean and is a combination of elegance and warmth.
The Deluxe Spa Room is right next door to the Ellerman House Spa and the room has a private infinity pool with views of the ocean. It is comprised of two rooms next to each other and a shared deck that makes it ideal for couples who are travelling together.
The Deluxe House Room is spacious and has double doors that open onto a private terrace and each room is decorated uniquely and offers views of the ocean and garden.
The Ellerman House Suites are very luxurious yet comfortable and features South African paintings and sculptures with exceptional views of the ocean, a private terrace and a separate lounge and a dining room.
There are also two private villas offering the most incredible accommodations and amenities.
The Amenities
All of the rooms have an en-suite bathroom, TV, underfloor heating, air conditioning and tea and coffee making facilities. Ellerman House offers transfers from wherever you are originating from as far as Cape Town International. Your transport also includes on-board Wi Fi.
